Wizkid is almost on the level of Fela Kuti when it comes to music in Nigeria – Media Personality Daddy Freeze (Video)

Popular Nigerian media personality Daddy Freeze in a video that surfaced online has sparked a lot of reactions among internet users as he compares Grammy award winner Wizkid to Afrobeats legend Fela Anikulapo Kuti.

Daddy Freeze in the video that hit the internet said Wizkid is almost at the same level of Fela Kuti while reacting to controversies and backlashes the “Essence” crooner has received after he addresses the rap music genre as being dead and boring.

Wizkid during the interview with 10 magazine argued for the dominance of Afrobeats over the rap music genre, Hip Hop.  noted that most of these rappers rap on the same beats, dished out the same style among others as there is no development.

He further berated Nigerian rappers as non-rappers and went on to list the real rappers in the Africa music industry.

Reacting to the ongoing battle between Wizkid and Nigerian rappers, Daddy Freeze in the video stands with Wizkid noting that whenever someone like the singer who has been successful since he breaks into the music scene 12 years speaks they should learn how to hear him out.

Defending Wizkid further, Daddy Freeze said very little artistes from Nigeria can achieve what Wizkid has done in the Nigeria music industry and he speaks absolutely nothing but the truth.

In his words; “When it comes to music in Nigeria as a whole, Wizkid is almost on the level of Fela then. What he (Wizkid) has been able to do, not many people can achieve it, when he says something, hear him out, there is one thing in me that makes me different from many people
I might not like you but if you speak the truth I will support you.

The truth is the truth and it will set you free. When you see the truth and started ignoring the truth
because of the person carrying the truth we become like Nigerian politicians, all of them are the same but they will make one look worse than the rest of them.

This comes after music producer, Samklef during an IG live session with Daddy Freeze, Kas and SoSo said Wizkid is not a fantastic singer. He added that he is a leader and there are somethings he’s not meant to say as he is a role model to many.
